Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah: and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the LORD, which he had spoken unto him, upon a roll of a book.

Then Jeremiah called Baruch mentioned already (Jer 32:12 f.) as the prophet's attendant. He was grandson of Maaseiah, "governor of the city" (2Ch 34:8) and brother of Seraiah (Jer 51:59).
