And Moses and Eleazar the priest, and all the princes of the congregation,.... Attended, no doubt, with a proper retinue:
went forth to meet them without the camp; partly to do honour to them, and…
In this ideal picture of the war nothing is said of the place where the battle was fought, nor the length of time occupied by it, nor any details of the fight. It was a rapid and sweeping conquest.
